[icinga-devel] invalid user 'icinga' in make install

I'm just trying to compile icinga 0.8.1 on old redhat fedora core 2 (hope
the old version number does not matter).
These are the commands used for compiling:

1) ./configure --prefix=/opt/icinga
2) make all
3) make install

And this outputs:

[root at maca icinga-0.8.1]# make install
cd ./base && make install
make[1]: Entering directory `/usr/src/redhat/SOURCES/icinga-0.8.1/base'
make install-basic
make[2]: Entering directory `/usr/src/redhat/SOURCES/icinga-0.8.1/base'
/usr/local/bin/install -c -m 775 -o icinga -g icinga -d /opt/icinga/bin
/usr/local/bin/install: invalid user `icinga'
make[2]: *** [install-basic] Error 1
make[2]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/redhat/SOURCES/icinga-0.8.1/base'
make[1]: *** [install] Error 2
make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/redhat/SOURCES/icinga-0.8.1/base'
make: *** [install] Error 2

Icinga itself does not create the users? I would expect icinga to create
the necessary users itself.
