Hm, never heard of --disable-module. But lately the AIX reports pointed to exclude the module/helloworld.c from compiling. Maybe it's only the compile flags being set.

Mine looks like this on RHEL 5.4 x64

make[1]: Entering directory `/home/XXX/icinga/icinga-core/module'
gcc -fPIC -g -O2  -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -o helloworld.o helloworld.c -shared


I've created an issue for that, please report back here and there ;)
